Where it began
At the Good Baby Food initiative our journey began in the same place as many parents' journeys do – in the kitchen.
When my children – 3 to be exact - were babies, I chose to prepare all of their meals from scratch. I wanted to know exactly what was going into their food: simple, wholesome ingredients, carefully prepared at home with love and attention. While there were many baby food options available, I often found myself wishing for meals that felt more like something I would make in my own kitchen and less like something designed for a supermarket shelf.
As I spoke to other parents, I realised I wasn't alone. Many mothers and fathers wanted the convenience of ready-made baby food but were concerned about the additives, stabilisers, preservatives, and processing often required to achieve long shelf lives in retail stores.
Why The Good Baby Food initiative was created
Our mission is simple: to provide babies with the same kind of home-cooked meals I prepared for my own children. We use carefully selected, fresh ingredients and prepare our meals in small batches, or freeze them to lock in freshness and nutrition naturally. Because our meals are kept frozen if they are not ordered fresh from our kitchen, we don't need the additives and stabilisers commonly used in shelf-stable baby foods.
We believe that convenience should never come at the expense of quality. Parents deserve a helping hand, and babies deserve real food made from real ingredients.
Homemade taste and feel.
Every meal we prepare reflects the values that inspired this business from the beginning:
As a parent-founded business, we understand the care that goes into every feeding decision. That's why we are committed to creating meals that we would be proud to serve to our own children.
Because every baby deserves food that tastes and feels home-made
